Helicon was formed by brothers John-Paul and Gary Hughes in East Kilbride, Glasgow. They signed to Fuzz Club in 2017 and have gone on to release 3 studio albums, 2 live albums, 2 EPs and 2 stand-alone singles on the label.

Their self-titled debut album was recorded and produced by Tony Doogan at Mogwai's Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow and they’ve previously collaborated with the likes of Will Carruthers ( ex-Spacemen 3, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Dead Skeletons) and Mark Gardener (RIDE).

In April 2024 the band teamed up with Los Angeles-based DJ & Producer Al Lover for the single ‘Permo’, Al Lover remix. The track is enjoying extensive play on BBC Radio 6 Music, as did their 2023 album ‘God Intentions’. The album won ‘Psych Lovers' Album of The Year’, made the long list for Scottish Album of The Year and earned the band a headline slot at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards.

HELICON is John-Paul Hughes, Gary Hughes, Graham Gordon, Mike Hastings, Mark McLure, Billy Docherty, Seb Jonsen and Anna McCracken.
